Colorblind Yonkers Artist Featured in Exhibit

YONKERS, NY April 9th, 2016 - With 20-plus years of Graphic Design under his belt, Yusef Abdul Jaleel stumbled onto creating portrait illustrations quite by accident. After receiving words of encouragement by many who admired his work, he decided to dedicate more time and resources to cultivating this talent. Being colorblind presented its challenges,however it only fueled his goal to deliver universal understanding through his illustrations.

He was recently selected as a Featured Artist in this years 9th Annual 2017 Yonkers Artist Showcase. His design, and the works of several other expressive Artists, will be available for viewing at the The Riverfront Art Gallery on the 4th floor of the Riverfront Library, the main branch of the Yonkers Public Library. NY Artist Enlightens With A Little Help From His Friends

YONKERS, NY – December 15, 2016 - December 15th through December 18th, Yusef Abdul Jaleel, Yonkers, N.Y Graphic Artist, has asked several subjects of his over 200 images, to change their Facebook profile picture to the illustrations he created of them, highlighting Muslim American Women encountered everyday while visually combating many negative portrayals commonly found today.
He uses Social Media as a conduit for introducing positive change. He titles it "#sotillustrationchallenge ", or Scheme of Things Illustration Challenge-named for his Graphic Arts Company.

Yonkers Artist Offers Private Fundraising With Free Art

YONKERS, NY – December 19, 2016 - In the spirit of giving, December 19th - January 20th Yusef Abdul Jaleel of Yonkers, N.Y, Graphic Artist, has offered use of past illustrations from his company, Scheme of Things, to be used in raising money for Women that may need a little help making ends meet.

They choose an item, sell it to Friends or Family, and 100% of the proceeds (minus production costs) is all theirs.
He expects it to resonate with many who may have trouble with rising Winter Utility costs or to fill a gap from an unexpected event.
